The MS/Pathfinder Moisture Gauge has been designed for use in an industrial environment and is easy to use and structurally sound.
The operating principle merely consists in automatic analyses which until very recently were carried out manually. The procedure is simple: the sample of material is taken mechanically and is conveyed onto the pan of high precision scales; it is then dried by an infrared lamp, and is finally removed by suction to make place for a new sample. The real innovation lies in the system controlling this process.
A computer controls each instant of the various phases of the measuring cycle; it manages the moisture values for each test, plots and displays graphics that enable test result to be read at a glance thanks to the intelligent use of colours, and if necessary generates alarms, in real time, if the moisture value is irregular the system comprises an alphanumeric/graphic printer that supplies a printout of all the test data, thereby providing printed records for future tests.
